Give your next buffet a professional look with this simple layering technique from Butler’s Pantry’s Director of Visual Design, Brian Blasingame.
It’s simple, first you’ll need a few platters of varying shape, size and opacity. Then look around your house for some accents. They’ll need to be relatively flat, but other than that, use your imagination! Look at the examples shown below for inspiration. Brian used pressed flowers, evergreen, a placemat made out of twine, berries and various greenary found in most gardens.
Try mixing up your platters to see what looks best. You don’t have to use a clear glass platter for the top either. Try using two white ones with the top one being smaller so you can see your accents around the edges. The possibilities are endless and the results are often drastic!
