The cornerstone of Butler’s Pantry is hospitality — defined as, the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. This word is played out by our team in the way we engage with our customers with respect, creative solutions and quality. Through our hiring, training and mentoring, we continuously emphasize “SERVICE FIRST”. This mentality has helped establish a host of formalized processes and galvanized our team round the basic principles of fostering positive relationships with clients. Our service team has grown in the past few months and we know this will strengthen the foundation of our mission and will help us meet and exceed our “SERVICE FIRST” goals.
Amber Held, our Human Resource Manager is our newest addition. She previously worked at Butler’s Pantry as our Director of Service before leaving to pursue and develop her skills in HR. Now upon her return, she says “she’s home again”, and we are so glad she found her way back to us! During her first 90 days, she’ll be re-acquainting herself to new & old leaders, reviewing policies and collaborating with the service team to initiate new onboarding procedures, performance management and communicating expectations in a more 21st century approach. I know Amber is anxious to move our culture and team spirit forward by building upon our Guiding Principles of Leadership (GPL) and our pledge for positive communication. Her professionalism, kind spirit and trustworthiness are the perfect match for this position.
Elisa Feldewerth is returning to Butler’s Pantry for a second time as well. Her first venture with us was in a sales capacity. Now returning as our Director of Service, she is thrilled to be influencing the experience of so many wonderful St. Louis celebrations. It is her goal to provide the very best in hospitality by being tentative to the needs of the team to ensure they feel confident and prepared. Her calm nature and passion for helping people is highly appreciated in this fast-paced world of service.
Cathy Mastrolia is the glue that has held 250+ service staff together. She’s been here for 8 years and has maintained an incredible attitude and heart for entertaining through consistent, courteous and fun service. A smile is an essential accessory when it comes to working in this industry, and she is always wearing hers! Leading by example, it is not a surprise she is naturally gifted in training new team members and familiarizing them with the Butler’s Way.
Together, our HR and Service team is unprecedented in terms of kindness and patience. This past Saturday, February 1, they hosted our first of many training opportunities for employees. The energy created by having the full team together was remarkable. All were working toward the same “SERVICE FIRST” goal and it was refreshing to see their approach to diversity, equality and sense of team. I am certain it will provide the base we need for a growing workforce for many years to come. As we continue into 2020, I look forward to seeing the collaboration between all departments and the paths they take to achieve success together!
