The first 6 weeks of the new year have proven to be very productive at Butler’s Pantry. Both January and February have been filled with lots of fun and imaginative parties. Additionally, the sales, culinary, operations and design teams have all been very busy creating and selling unique events for 2018. But one department and one person in particular has been extremely busy. The HR and Service team has been working hard on our SERVICE FIRST initiatives for 2018. In her new role as Service Manager, Amber Held has hit the ground running in this new year: working with Jon and Hannah on implementing Nowsta (an app for staffing our events), hiring & on-boarding new team members, training new hires, introducing/identifying/training our new internal trainers (Train the Trainer meeting just around the corner!), introducing employee feedback surveys, ensuring consistency with our new kitchen uniforms and developing/executing additional service captain training…whew! IF this workload wasn’t impressive enough, additionally, Amber has been transitioning her former role in accounting to my son Ricky. Amber has done all of the above with incredible grace, patience, skill and talent!
As you can imagine, Amber has quickly become a valuable resource in our efforts to maintain and secure the best catering team in town. Amber began her career with Butler’s working part-time as the Administrative Assistant. She has taken on every challenge presented to her and has exceeded our expectations ever since. Her dedication to making all team members feel welcomed and comfortable in their roles is evident daily by her warm and infectious smile. We are excited to see Amber continue to grow and shine in her new role and are thrilled to feature her as this month’s employee spotlight!
-Richard Nix Jr., President of Butler’s Pantry
Staff Appreciation Notes
“Amber comes from a restaurant background and excels when it comes to customer service. She has also pursued Human Resources through schooling and is a shining example when it comes to professionalism, discretion and positive interaction with all team members.
She is truly the perfect fit for the Service Manager role at Butler’s Pantry. In her first two months in the position, she has jumped into the role with both feet and we are already seeing results through the Service First initiative.
Amber is an absolute pleasure to be around – every single day. WE are incredibly lucky to have her onboard and look forward to watching her blossom, ever-focused on ensuring client & staff experiences are one-of-a-kind.”

“I still remember when Amber first started here at Butler’s Pantry. From day one, she came in with a huge smile and the most contagious positive attitude. Our office changed the day Amber joined our team and I can’t imagine it without her. Her work ethic is unstoppable and I’ve enjoyed every project we’ve worked on together. I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Amber.”

“I am new to the office and Amber has really helped out with my transition. I probably bug her to death, but anytime I have a question she has a big smile on her face and is ready to help me out. Thank you Amber for making my transition very easy and smooth. You really deserve the spotlight this month. Also, sorry I took your desk.”
