Heaps of Thanks with a Side of Humor

Monday, March 15th, 2010

In February, Butler’s Pantry provided a sack lunch at the Missouri History Museum for Booneville High’s Junior Class Trip. The reviews were excellent, and the Thank You’s received were anything but ordinary:

“For me, the surprise of the day was the excellence concealed inside of a paper bag. As informational and cool as the museum was, it was topped by your one and only sack lunch. The combination of flavors was utterly fantastic, and I could not have asked for a more well-made, delicious sack lunch. Thank you for your time, preparation, and all your possible struggles throughout this endeavor that you completed with class and perfection.”
-Ryan

“Dear Catering Staff, Thank you so much for the delightful lunch that you made us. The blend between the lettuce, cheese & large amount of turkey was amazing. Those chips, made normal chips not that good. They were salty goodness in every bite. The cookie, on the other hand, was breathtaking. The chocolate melted in my mouth. Biting into that apple was to dream about. It’s like you were cooking specifically for me, but really, you were cooking for all the 100 people that were there. Don’t even get me started on the apple juice box. It was the juciest juice box I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you for taking the time to label bags. I appreciate it.”

Fries with that history?

Rick - fries with that“Richard Nix Jr. of Butler’s Pantry will open Bixby’s restaurant in the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park in mid-march after a $500,000 renovation and redesign of what had been Meriwether’s restaurant. Nix worked with architect Mark Herman of Mark Inc., general contractor BSI Constructors, and the museum’s Karen Goering and Harry Rich. Nix expects first-year revenue of $2 million in restaurant sales and catering. Bixby’s, named for a St. Louis philanthropist and museum patron, will be open for daily lunch and Sunday brunch, and will be available for evening events for groups of 30 to 100.”
